If the giant spawn is triggered ("I will help") and Tain does not die, he will simply despawn within about five to ten minutes. In that case, if he isn't attacked, I can confirm that his respawn is either not three hours or has variance. It does seem to be three hours after a successful turn-in of the elixir though. - Foddy 03/10/2019
