New page

This page is a work in progress: please feel free to improve it!

Equipping an EverQuest Character
There are a lot of items in this game, but only some are useful, and of those only some offer a "sweet spot" of availability/affordability and utility. For instance, you probably won't go out of your way to get an item that adds one more AC (though you'll equip it if you happen to loot it)... but almost everyone buys or quests the {{:Journeyman's Boots}, because the utility of getting to move faster is so huge.

This page strives to detail such "sweet spot" items, in general. For class-specific gear suggestions, see the appropriate class page, eg. Equipping a Druid or Equipping a Shaman.

Travel
Run Speed
JBoots
By far the most popular EQ travel item is the (aka JBoots), which can clicked instantly for a 35% movement speed buff.

Except for Bards (with Selo's Accelerando) and Druids/Rangers/Shaman (with Spirit of the Wolf aka SoW), JBoots are a must-have. Even Druids and Rangers might want a pair, because when you are fleeing a monster and your SoW runs out, being able to click JBoots can save your life . (Shaman have and Bard songs are instant, so neither needs JBoots.)

Blood of the Wolf (SoW) Potions
Many players also acquire potions. While they can only be used ten times (typically costing about 10p per use), the increased speed of SoW over JBoots can be valuable in certain circumstances. Also, many rely on SoW potions before they can afford to buy JBoots.

Clockwork Watchman Greaves
Gnomish Clerics and Warriors have access to the , which have a (rechargeable) 10 charges of +40% movement speed. However, the casting time is 4 seconds, the buff only lasts 18 minutes, and recharging requires a (about 55p, so each use costs about 6p).

Blood Orchid Katana
High-end melee raiders (WAR/PAL/RNG/SHD/BRD/ROG) can acquire the in Veeshan's Peak, which lets them cast Sow (with an 8 second casting time).

Levitation
Underwater Breathing
Weight Reduction
* A variety of bags and containers

Combat
Proccing Weapons
Coming soon!

Haste
There are two types of haste items, permanent ("always on") and triggered (aka buff or clicky haste). The Haste Guide has a more thorough explanation.

Permanent Haste
Every permanent haste item available is listed in the Haste Guide's list. However, a few items are especially popular and worth noting.

The two most popular first haste items for lower-level characters are the (the most affordable haste item, only available in Velious) and the (the most classic early haste item).

In contrast, the best haste items are NO DROP, and can only be acquired by raiding. However, the most popular droppable high-end haste item is the . In Velious the (almost as good) ) is also a popular choice.

Triggered Haste
Similarly, a list of every triggered haste item is also available ...but it's a lot shorter.

Undoubtedly the most popular option is the , which is not charged or triggered by a proc, and works for every class/race.

Monks, Rangers, Bards and Warriors also have popular class-specific options (see their pages for details).

HP Regeneration
Coming Soon!

, Fungi, Ikky BP, Zlandicar Heart, Aura of Battle, etc.

Mana Regeneration
Coming Soon!

Flowing Thought I-IV: Mention shawl for attainable FT1

Global Cooldown Reset (Caster-Only)
Coming Soon!

Other
There are also various utility "clickies" which can be helpful in specific situations
** Pet summons (for faster early-level leveling)
** Root clickies
** Locate Corpse clickies
** Raid Clickies (some items are lesss valuable in normal play, but are valuable for raids)
