Surefall Glade

New page

While EverQuest has many factions, the only value most have is preventing a small group of geographically isolated monsters from attacking you.

Far fewer factions actually give some meaningful in-game benefit, such as access to vendors, bankers, or quest-givers. This category distinguishes those "significant" factions from the rest.

Faction Summaries
All of the significant factions in EverQuest are summarized here. They are grouped geographically, and include both any major rewards that can be gained by having the faction, and any notable ways of raising that faction.

The majority of factions listed are "guard" factions, all of which are significant because having them allows players to travel safely in their city (although other factions may also be needed). Many of these factions have quests associated with them as well.

Odus Cities
Odus only has two main cities, and both cities' guard factions can be raised by killing kobolds in The Warrens.

Erudin
The "good" city on Odus, Erudin, is guarded by the High Guard of Erudin.

Paineel
The "evil" city on Odus, Paineel, is guarded by the Heretics. That faction is needed to purchase a (for The Hole).

Antonica Cities (Good)
Freeport
The (corrupt) Freeport Militia guard the Human city of Freeport.

The city also has a faction of Paladins known as the Knights of Truth. Their faction is needed (along with Priests of Life) for the Zimel's Blades quest for .

Halas
The Wolves of the North guard the Barbarian city of Halas. The vendors of the city are the Merchants of Halas.

Both the Halas banker and its Rogues Guild are part of the Rogues of the White Rose. This group is at odds with the Wolves of the North, so helping the Wolves enough can make it impossible to bank there.

Highpass
The Highpass Guards guard the Human city of Highpass.

Qeynos
The Guards of Qeynos guard the Human city of Qeynos, as well as the nearby Qeynos Hills, West Karana, North Karana, and East Karana. This faction is needed for the quest for the .

Some of those guards have been corrupted and are Corrupt Qeynos Guards.

The Qeynos Citizen faction includes not just the citizens of that city, but also many vendors throughout zones as far away as Rathe Mountains (the gypsies camped there belong to that faction).

The city of Qeynos also has the Priests of Life, who are Clerics of Rodcet Nife. Their faction is needed (along with Knights of Truth) for the Zimel's Blades quest for .

Rivervale
The Halfling city of Rivervale, as well as nearby Misty Thicket (and its Druid circle), is guarded by the Guardians of the Vale.

Surefall Glade
Surefall Glade doesn't have guards per se, but is protected by the Jaggedpine Treefolk (Druids) and Protectors of Pine (Rangers).

Antonica Cities (Evil)
Grobb
Da Bashers guard the Troll city of Grobb and nearby Innothule Swamp.

Neriak
The Dark Elf city of Neriak (and Nektulos Forest) is guarded by two factions: Dreadguard Inner and Dreadguard Outer. Both these and the Dark Bargainers faction (which includes both the NPC in Neriak who sells and some Dark Elf merchants in South Ro) can be raised via the Bottle of Red Wine quest.

Oggok
The Oggok Guards guard the Ogre city of Oggok and nearby Feerrott. Their faction can be raised via the The Bread Shipment (Feerrott) quest.

Antonica (Other)
Runnyeye
Although Clan Runnyeye goblins of Runnyeye are traditionally enemies of all players, with enough effort it is possible to raise their faction (by killing minotaurs and muddites in the Gorge of King Xorbb. The goblins even have banker that can be used.

Kunark Cities
Cabilis
The guards of the Iksar city of Cabilis are on the Legion of Cabilis. This faction can be raised by killing many frogloks (the Iksar aren't a trusting people) throughout Kunark, including those in Sebilis.

The Crusaders Of Greenmist (Shadow Knight faction) is also prominent in the city. That faction is used for the Crusader's Tests quest for .

Firiona Vie
Both the guards and the vendors of the "good" city of Firiona Vie are on the Inhabitants of Firiona Vie faction.

The Overthere
The "evil" city is The Overthere, whose residents are on Venril Sathir (Faction). That faction is needed (by non-charming, non--using characters) to complete the quest for the .

Kunark (Other)
Chardok
Although Chardok is considered to be a dungeon by many, players can raise their faction with sufficient effort.

The Sarnaks of Chardok are on Brood of Di`Zok faction, which is aligned closely with the Sarnak Collective faction (any faction hits with the Brood will lower your faction with the Collective and vice-versa). The Brood of Di`Zok faction is worth raising to obtain items such as the Di'Zok Signet of Service (requires warmly faction), Regal Band of Bathezid (requires ally faction) and Spirit Wracked Cord (requires ally faction). This faction can be raised by turning in Green Goblin Skin and Mt. Death Mineral Salts. (See Di'Zok Signet of Service Quest).

Ring of Scale
The Ring of Scale would just be a local faction (for Burning Woods and Skyfire Mountains), except that it has prominent members in various other locations. Gorenaire can kill travelers near the Dreadlands portals (though, as a raid target, usually not for very long), while Severilous can also (briefly) attack travelers in Emerald Jungle. Also Esorpa of the Ring guards the valley before the entrance to Temple of Veeshan in Western Wastes. This faction can be raised by killing heavily in Mistmoore.

Velious Cities
All of these factions can be used to get Velious Class Armor, and all can be raised by killing members of one of the other two (opposing) cities.

Thurgadin
The residents and guards of the Velious Dwarf city of Thurgadin (as well as related guards in Eastern Wastes and Great Divide) are on Coldain faction. The Thurgadin Armor Quests offer powerful suits of armor for every class.

Kael
The residents and guards of the Velious Frost Giant city of Kael (as well as related guards in Eastern Wastes, Iceclad Ocean, Great Divide and Wakening Lands) are on Kromzek faction. The [[:Category:Kael Armor Quests|Kael Armor Quests
]] offer powerful suits of armor (more powerful than Thurgadin armor).

Skyshrine
The Claws of Veeshan are the residents and guards of the Dragon city of Skyshrine, as well as dragons in Cobalt Scar, Western Wastes, and Wakening Lands (including Wuoshi, who guards the dragon circle there). The Skyshrine Armor Quests offer powerful suits of armor (more powerful than Thurgadin armor).
